The Beauty and the Beast
Sunita knew that people stared whenever she walked alongside her ugly husband.
They smiled at him and scorned at her.
Sunita thought people were jealous of her beauty, she never heard what they murmured to each other, “There go the beauty and the beast, one without a soul and one with the heart of gold”.

Testing limits
“Mummyyyy, it hurts” Sonu wailed.
He was so dear to Kamala, she had fed, cared for him. He ruled her heart. It hurt, whenever she saw beating marks on his tender body.
Yet, she couldn’t hug him now, she would be stopped by Sunita - the mother of Sonu, the one who gave him the tears.

Cleaning the Mess
Sunita would’ve been pleased, Kamala had cleaned the mess well.
She had always been mean to her, treating her like a slave. Kamala was glad that she would never have to see Sunita again.
No one would hurt Sonu anymore, she thought, and with that wiped the last drop of Sunita’s blood from the floor.
