Self-imposed sabbatical

It's a self-imposed sabbatical
with no one around but just me
away from the crowd, the humdrums of life
my mind takes me to places which i never see

it holds my hand and introduces me to the shadows of truth
hidden in the dark till now by time's apathy
i can now see the second side of the coin
once its turned around by me

its only in this enclosed space of my being
that i get to meet who i should be
so here i am
chained to myself, yet my mind is free.

chained to myself, yet my mind is free......

wow...i like this expression...
well mind is free only because you are chained to "yourself"...your mind would have been a slave had it been the other way around.....

you are maturing day by day ...your work says it all...

I love this line :

"i can now see the second side of the coin
once its turned around by me"

And if I am not wrong it portrays biased side of human nature( which you have overcome by turning it around)

Nice !

yes you are right, only in our solitude can we reflect upon things abt which we held a biased opionion otherwise.
